Mechatronic engineer

Mechatronic engineer

You form the bridge between software, electronics, and mechanics and therefore you help us build the best possible machines for Plasma Activated Water (PAW). In that way you take our innovation for a greener world to the next level.

Your impact on a sustainable world

From your experience and expertise, you understand exactly which choices are necessary from all core competences involved (electrical, mechanical and software) to (further) develop our machines. You make it crystal clear what the requirements for the machine are. All the good and bad options, you see it through. In this way, you get from a long list of options to a short list. The results you discuss with Wouter, our lead engineer, and together you determine which decisions we take. We are talking about the separate machine modules, where the 3 core competences come together.

Wouter oversees the entire system architecture of the machine and therefore knows exactly what fits within it, and you know the modules inside out. You combine the mechanical, electrical and software elements and therefore continuously exchange knowledge from all three disciplines. You not only work on new machines, but you are also working on improving our existing machines.

You work with (extreme) high voltage machines in combination with high power. Your challenge is to make these machines easily producible. We work with embedded, and industrial software, so you will also find great challenges there to further increase your knowledge.

Your team

You work in a small team with Wouter, the lead engineer, a mechanical engineer, and an electrical engineer. If we need software expertise, then we call in our specialised colleagues. Together you form the basis for engineering our machines and for marketing our technology.

The fundamental R&D forms the basis of our organisation, leading to development in plasma technology. From there, application development arises, after which we move on to the prototype (delivering Proof of Concepts). Next, we reach the engineering to design the application in detail and then together with our partners we build those applications and finally end up with our customers to install those applications. So you understand that you are part of a very essential step in our primary process.

At VitalFluid, a team of some 30 colleagues are working in an open and approachable atmosphere. A place where you will be given all the freedom, to take full advantage of your creative and innovative potential. ‘Creavation’ is an important value to us, and it represents the perfect merger of creativity and innovation. We are doers, hard workers who are very well able to handle hard deadlines. Your enterprising character perfectly fits this team of pioneers. Our nationalities and backgrounds are quite diverse, which is great for our innovation. Because this way, everything will be viewed from different perspectives, to come to the best results. We are all quite different but have one thing in common: our love for cheese straws and other snacks to go with drinks.

The VitalFluid benefits

A real opportunity to improve both the world and you. You will be working on the greatest innovations, and we will give you the opportunity to continuously develop yourself. You will receive:

  • A gross salary starting from € 3,000 to € 5,000 per month.
  • 35 holidays and 8% holiday allowance.
  • A laptop.
  • Commuting allowance should you take the car or bike to the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, or a public transport travel pass.
Your passion for technology

Your endless curiosity to understand how things work was the reason you found the ultimate challenge in combining mechanical, electrotechnical, and computer engineering. You love to spar about the best solutions with real experts in these areas. Additionally:

  • You preferably have a bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics and at least 3 to 5 years of experience in building (bio-inspired) machines.
  • You have already worked with (software) tools like Inventor/Altium, and you can join the conversation in languages like C##, C#, and PLC.
  • Working more broadly energises you and you can really convey things: you speak the language of the different areas of expertise.

You live in the Netherlands or Belgium.

VitalFluid, the global knowledge centre for plasma technology

We are working on a relatively new phenomenon, where Plasma Activated water (PAW) is produced using just water, air, and electricity. Based on our varied know-how, together we develop high tech applications in the area of PAW. In doing this, we simulate a natural principle: if lightning strikes water, the water is temporarily given a disinfecting function and a little nitrogen is added to the water. The nutritious and purifying ‘growth water’ emerging here, is quite a suitable alternative for chemical pesticides and polluting fertiliser. This way we want to help realising our CO2-reduction and reach the objective of growing our food biologically for at least 25% in 2030, while using 50% fewer pesticides.

Our team of 30 thus commits to a better world. We have the ambition to develop our Plasma-technology even further, so over the period to come, we will grow as an organisation. We are keen to add (technical) specialists to our team, who are looking forward to making the world greener, together with us.
