At Groentekwekerij ‘t Bleekerven in Heusden (gemeente Asten) the Netherlands VitalFluid started a trial with Natural Nitrogen in a conventional cucumber cultivation funded by Europees Landbouwfonds voor Plattelandsontwikkeling: Europa investeert in zijn platteland. We will test how cucumbers grow with Natural Nitrogen as nutrient compared to existent liquid fertilizers. The trial will last until the end of 2022, the test consist of 3 parts; april – june cucumbers, june – sept cucumbers and finally sept – dec autumn tomatoes. peter aarts owner of ‘t Bleekerven has set up a test location where he can mix the Natural Nitrogen in a buffer tank togeheter with other fertilizers before feeding it to the crops (see picture). Together with Jeroen Musch, Peter van Boekel, Mark van Boxtel, and Willy van Bussel we visited the trial location in Gemeente Asten.
The trial named POP3 Brabant 2014-2020 is a partnership between Eindhoven University of Technology (Guus Pemen, Erik Matien), Botany Group (peter korsten), Snack Products BV, ‘t Bleekerven and VitalFluid B.V. (Paul Leenders).
